About Artist
Isabella Carmona is currently an art student at Northern Illinois University. She will receive her B.S. in Art from Northern Illinois University (2026).
Isabella Carmona is a Rockford-based mixed-media artist whose work explores family, memory, and the everyday moments that make life feel meaningful. Largely self-taught, Isabella collects papers that are similar in colors, patterns and textures with the photo. Through cutting, layering, and arranging these pieces, she creates collages that reflect the people, memories, and emotions she carries with her. Her work is deeply rooted in her connection to her family and the comfort she finds in the people she loves. Isabella’s practice focuses on finding beauty in the small moments and everyday experiences that can easily be overlooked. Her work has been shown in Rockford and DeKalb. Currently, Isabella is creating large-scale collages inspired by her day-to-day life and the people who give it meaning. Through her work, she hopes to preserve the feeling of these moments and share the warmth, love, and beauty she finds within her family.
